Two hurt
Two people were injured Monday evening when an SUV slid off county road 200 South near county road 500 East and struck a tree.
Brian R. Harlamert, 48, Coldwater, Ohio, told Jay County Sheriff’s Office he was eastbound about 8:30 p.m. in his 2008 Dodge Durango when he moved over to give space for an oncoming westbound vehicle. The SUV slid on ice and snow and went into the south ditch.
Two passengers in the vehicle — Trisha M. Harlamert, 43, and Annelise Harlamert, 16, both of Coldwater — were injured in the accident.
Trisha Harlamert sustained injuries to her abdomen, while Annelise Harlamert suffered abrasions to her face.
Damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
Icy roads
Slippery conditions were to blame for a two-vehicle accident about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday on county road 500 North near county road 450 East in Bearcreek Township.
Dylan B. Brotherton, 24, Bryant, told Jay County Sheriff’s Office he was eastbound when his 2007 Chevrolet Malibu began to slide on the ice. He attempted to regain control, but his car struck the left rear of a westbound 1999 Honda Accord driven by Darrell E. Stout Jr., 62, rural Bryant.
Damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
