Michael J. Fellers, age 71, of rural Portland passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019, in the IU Health Jay emergency room.
He was born in Celina, Ohio, on May 12, 1948, the son of Sherrill and Rosella (Meinerding) Fellers. He was married Sept. 13, 1969, to Ruth Smart, who survives.
He was retired after 45 years at OMCO (Ross Mold) in Winchester and was owner of Fellers Auto Sales in Portland. He attended Madison High School and was interested in vintage vehicles.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Ruth; one son, Michael Chad Fellers of Portland; two daughters, Angela Miller (husband: John) of Muncie and Kim Nuckols (husband: Ricky) of Portland; two brothers, Shirrell Fellers (wife: Marsha) of Richmond and Bob Fellers (wife: Judy) of Portland; two sisters, Virginia Myers (husband: Michael) of Portland and Shirley Kaupp (husband: Danny) of Fort Recovery; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and LeRoy Fellers; and a nephew, William L. Fellers.
Funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 14, 2019, at 7 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Mitch Loy presiding. Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Bluff Point Cemetery.
