OSSIAN — Cameron Clark earned a top 10 finish Wednesday.
His teammate was two spots behind.
Clark was one of two East Jay Middle School boys cross country runners to place in the top 15 as the Chiefs took eighth in the Norwell Invitational.
Woodside won the team title with 56 points, ahead of runner-up Indian Springs (78) and Maple Creek (93). East Jay totaled 186 points for eighth out of 13 scoring teams.
Maple Creek (47), Woodside (66) and Indian Springs (84) were the top three squads in the girls race. East Jay’s girls were also eight with 179 points.
Clark, an eighth grader, was 10th overall with his time of 11 minutes, 35 seconds. Tony Wood finished 12th in 11:44.
Creed Beiswanger finished 29th, Gabe Pinkerton placed 66th and Carson Davis was 69th.
Indian Springs’ Marcus Ridge was the individual winner in 11:00.1.
Natalie Carreno was the top EJMS girl as she was 18th in 13:18.6. Ayla Grabner finished 22nd, Paityn Wendel crossed the line 32nd, Alexis Sibray placed 48th and Aubrey Millspaugh was 59th.
Woodside’s Addison Knoblouch won in 11:17.8.
