Young people will have the opportunity to sing together.

Arts Place is offering a youth choir — Stateline Singers — with the first meeting slated for Sept. 24.

The choir, to be directed by Jan Rittenhouse, is for students ages 8 to 14. The group will practice from 4 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays at Arts Place in Portland.

The registration fee for the 12-week ensemble is $25. The deadline is Sept. 19, and registration forms are available at artsland.org.



Drive scheduled

The American Red Cross will host a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. Monday at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 403 Sharpsburg Road, Fort Recovery.

Auditions set

Jay County Civic Theatre will hold auditions for its production of the musical “Frozen Jr.” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 30 and Oct. 2 at Arts Place, 131 E.?Walnut St., Portland.

The show is for performers 18-and-younger. Jason McGraw will direct the show, and Reid Knuth will be the musical director.

Walk in the flowers

Limberlost State Historic Site will host its Autumn Loblolly Wildflower Safari at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Loblolly Marsh Nature Preserve.

Visitors will join a Limberlost naturalist for a stroll along the Loblolly trails to see early autumn wildflowers in bloom.

The fee is $4 for Limberlost members and $5 for non-members.
