Last week at Southern Wells: Jay County had a 12-0 lead in the third quarter but allowed 20 consecutive points in a 20-12 loss to Southern Wells. The Raiders scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter off a JCHS?fumble. Bailey Cox had career highs in carries (26), rushing yards (156)?and rushing touchdowns (two).

Last week vs. Monroe Central: Adams Central, which was ranked third in Class A, got 154 passing yards on just seven completions from quarterback?Dallas Schwaller in a 21-13 win against the fifth-ranked Monroe Central Golden Bears. The?Jets also averaged nearly six yards per carry.

Season leaders: Passing — Dallas Schwaller – 12-of-23 passing for 254 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Rushing — Blake Heyerly – 64 carries for 330 yards and two touchdowns. Receiving — Nick Neuenschwander – three catches for 124 yards. Defense — Joseph Collier – 22 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss.



Last season: Four fumbles and one interception prevented Jay County’s offense from getting much going in a 41-0 loss to the Adams Central in Monroe. At the same time, the Jets racked up 509 yards of offense, including 423 on the ground, led by Logan Macklin’s 156 yards.

Game notes: This is the sixth meeting between Jay County and Adams Central, and the Jets have won each meeting. The Jets have outscored the Patriots 235-68 in the previous five games, including a 70-48 win in 2017 ... Adams Central moved up one spot to No. 2 in the Class A Associated Press poll, and the Jets are third in the IFCA poll ... Jay County has not started the season with four consecutive losses since the Patriots were winless in their first five games in 2003 ...
