Dealing
A Portland woman was sentenced to prison for a drug dealing charge.
Terri N. Miller, 38, 1336 W. Meadow Lane, pleaded guilty on Aug. 15 in Jay Circuit Court to dealing methamphetamine, a Level 3 felony, as a lesser included offense of the original Level 2 felony charge. She was sentenced to 10 years in the Indiana Department of Correction with six years suspended, to be served on formal probation, and was given credit for time served from April 3 to 11 and from June 8. Miller was fined $10, assessed court costs of $185 and ordered to pay a drug abuse, prosecution, interdiction and correction of $200. As part of a plea agreement, charges of possession of a narcotic drug, a Level 6 felony, possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor, were dismissed.
Solicitation
A Portland man pleaded guilty in Jay Circuit Court to child solicitation, a Level 4 felony.
Chad A. Flowers, 35, 107 W. Green Park Drive, will be sentenced on Nov. 6. The court accepted his plea and dismissed a charge of obstruction of justice, a Level 6 felony, and its notice of intent to seek habitual offender status.
Possession, violations
A Redkey man was sentenced for a drug possession charge and for violating his probation.
Trevin W. Miller, 29, 117 N. Sycamore St., pleaded guilty in Jay Circuit Court to possession of methamphetamine, a Level 5 felony, as a lesser included offense of the original Level 4 felony charge. He was sentenced to five years in the Indiana Department of Correction and was given credit for time served from June 11 with a five-day loss of credit. He was assessed court costs of $185 and ordered to pay a drug abuse, prosecution, interdiction and correction fee of $200. The court will consider modifying the sentence if Miller completes a substance abuse treatment program. Charges of unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony, and criminal trespass, a Class A misdemeanor, were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
In a separate Jay Superior Court case, Miller was found in violation of his probation on the charge of unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony. He was ordered to serve an additional two days of the sentence imposed on July 3, 2018, and was given two days credit for one day served. His probation was terminated unsuccessfully.

A Modoc woman was sentenced in Jay Circuit Court to additional prison time for violating her probation.
Ashley L. Moore, 25, 6484 S. 510 West, was found in violation of her probation on the original charge of robbery, a Level 5 felony, for which she was sentenced on Oct. 16. She was ordered to serve an additional year and four months at the Indiana Department of Correction and was given credit for time served on July 9 and from Aug. 16. Her probation was extended by one year.
