Time for work
A Portland man continued to drive to work after striking a deer at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday on Boundary Pike near county road 200 South.
Jeremy W. Loper, 50, waited to call in the accident until about 4:30 p.m. Thursday after he got off work because he said he didn’t have time to report it in the morning, according to a Jay County Sheriff’s Office accident report. Loper was northbound on Boundary Pike when he was unable to avoid hitting a deer with his pickup truck.
Damage was estimated to be less than $1,000.
