Drunk driving
A Redkey woman was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor, after Jay County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle accident Thursday at 5288 S. 1150 West, Dunkirk.
Amanda M. Adams, 32, 328 E. High St., was northbound on county road 1150 West when she lost control of her vehicle, veered to the opposite side of the road, off the road and into a residential yard at 5238 S. 1150 West, Dunkirk.
Her vehicle then hit a chain-link fence, after which it rolled several times before coming to a stop after hitting a tree.
Adams was treated for minor injuries at the scene but was taken to IU Health Jay for a blood test. She then was taken to Jay County Jail, where she was being held on $1,500 bond.
Damage was estimated between $5,000 and $10,000. Adams was driving a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe.
