Thomas “Willie” Wilhelm, age 67, passed away Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, at his home in Redkey.
He was a member of the Redkey United Methodist Church and was retired from Sterling Casting in Bluffton after 25 years. He was a member of the Circle X in Winchester, the GMP Union Local # 455 and the National Rifle Association. He was an avid NASCAR follower and Dale Earnhardt fan.
Thomas was born Nov. 19, 1953, in Wabash, Indiana, the son of Harry and Wanda (Matthews) Wilhelm. He was married to Louann Cline on Feb. 1, 1997. She passed away on April 10, 2013.
Survivors include:
Brother — William Wilhelm (wife: Sindi), Decatur
Sister — Jayne Bailey (husband: Tom), Alabama
Half-brother — James Wilhelm, Portland
Half-sister — Ruthie Paul, Dunkirk
Stepdaughter — Jackie Sheridan (husband: Tim), Fort Recovery
A special nephew — Michael D. Cline, and several other nieces and nephews
Mother in law — Joyce Harshbarger, Lynn
Two brothers-in-law — Michael R. Cline (wife: Lisa), Dunkirk, and David R. Cline (wife: LeeAnn), Hope Mills, North Carolina
Three sisters-in-law — Blair Hart, Lynn, Katie Jane Wright (husband: Brad), Hartford City, and Tonya Jo Cornelius (husband:James), Elbert, Colorado
Stepmother-in-law — Linda A. Cline, Winchester
Seven grandchildren — Ethan, Emilie, Owen, Aiden, Tasha, Elijah and Jacob
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kevin and Stephen Wilhelm; and a stepson, Gary McCowan.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. His nephew, Michael D. Cline, will officiate the services, and burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, south of Redkey, Indiana.
Memorials may be directed to the Jay County Heart Fund.
