Dealing
A Muncie man was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to dealing in a narcotic drug, a Level 3 felony.
Zachary W. Robbins, 28, 501 N. Mulberry St., was sentenced in Jay Circuit Court to 10 years in Indiana Department of Correction and given 44 days credit for time served. He was assessed court costs of $185 and ordered to pay $200 in drug abuse, prosecution, interdiction and correction fees.
As part of his plea agreement, his conviction was lowered from a Level 2 felony and a Level 3 felony charge of possession of methamphetamine and a Level 5 felony of carrying a handgun without a license were dismissed.
Possession
A Bryant man was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to possession of methamphetamine, a Level 5 felony.
Roger R. Oberlin, 38, 7073 N. 200 East, was sentenced in Jay Circuit Court to four years in Indiana Department of Correction with all but six months suspended and given 14 days credit for time served. He was placed on probation for three years and six months, assessed court costs of $185 and ordered to pay $400 for a substance abuse program and $200 in drug abuse, prosecution, interdiction and correction fees.
As part of his plea agreement, a Level 6 felony charge of maintaining a common nuisance and a Class C misdemeanor charge of possession of paraphernalia were dismissed.
Theft
A Portland man was sentenced to Jay County Jail after pleading guilty to theft, a Level 6 felony.
Dustin R. M. Bichsel, 33, 1130 Meadow Lane, Portland, was sentenced in Jay Superior Court to 182 days in Jay County Jail and given 164 days credit for 82 days served. He was assessed court costs of $185.
Trials scheduled
A three-day jury trial was scheduled for March 17 in Jay Circuit Court for Eric R. Marshall, 1110 W. Ward St., Urbana, Ohio, who is set to stand trial for charges of sexual misconduct with a minor and criminal confinement, both Level 5 felonies.
A two-day jury trial was scheduled for June 1 in Jay Circuit Court for Tatiana M. Chambers, 104 E. Delaware St., Redkey, who is set to stand trial for the following charges: possession of a narcotic drug, a Level 5 felony, neglect of a dependent, a Level 5 felony, unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony, maintaining a common nuisance, a Level 6 felony, and possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor.
A two-day jury trial was scheduled for Jan. 21 in Jay Circuit Court for Donald E. Spice Jr., 7326 W. Main St., Bryant, who is set to stand trial for domestic battery, a Level 5 felony.
