Secret Families offers its thanks
Letter to the Editor
To the editor:
Secret Families Christmas Charity would like to say thank you to the Jay County community for making our 4th Annual Event Day on Dec. 14 such a huge success.
What we witnessed in Delaware County several years ago became an inspiration for the vision of what we could accomplish in Jay County. However, to make Secret Families Christmas Charity a true success is only possible with the support of the Jay County community and the individuals that make up the community. The support and growth that we experienced in 2019 is what made our event day the success that it was.
Although the list is too long to thank everyone individually we would like to express our deepest appreciation to the following: the 140 individuals, businesses, churches and organizations that financially supported us this year; the many individuals who donated, attended or participated in one of our fundraisers throughout the past few months; the businesses and organizations that collected household goods for our families; the Jay County students that not only collected household goods but also came out to volunteer; and all of the individuals that helped with preparations, set up and worked during Event Day.
We would also like to thank Walmart of Portland, all of the Jay School Corporation personnel, PG 14 radio, The Commercial Review, Ja Mar, Classic Cuts, Buffalo Wings & Rings, Mike Medler and Rodney Miles for transporting our presents, our 13 delivery captains, and the Portland, Bryant, Dunkirk, Pennville and Redkey fire departments for delivering our Christmas trees.
We especially would like to thank the over 200 volunteers throughout the community that joined us on Dec. 14 to shop, wrap and deliver Christmas to families throughout Jay County.
Most importantly, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the 106 families that shared their stories with us and allowed us to be blessed by serving them this Christmas.
May God Bless you all in the new year and we are looking forward to Dec. 12, 2020.
