Three felony charges
Wesley D. Snyder, 45, no address available, pleaded guilty in Jay Superior Court to maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana and theft, all Level 6 felonies.
He was sentenced to two and a half years in Indiana Department of Correction, where it was recommended he seek a drug treatment program. He was assessed court costs of $555.
As part of his plea agreement, charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia were dismissed.
Probation violations
Jay Superior Court handled several cases regarding probation violations.
Jacob A. Hart, 28, 215 W. Walnut, Coldwater, Ohio, violated his probation related to an original charge of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony.
He was sentenced to an additional 180 days in Jay County Jail and given 168 days credit for 84 days served.
Shaina L. Gunter, 33, last known address in Portland, violated her probation related to an original charge of possession of a narcotic drug, a Level 6 felony. She was sentenced to an additional 180 days in Jay County Jail and given 148 days credit for 74 days served.
Cody L. Roth, 31, 8481 N. 200 East, Ridgeville, violated his probation related to an original charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Level 6 felony. He was sentenced to 180 days of electronically monitored home detention with two days credit for one day served.
Battery
A Dunkirk man pleaded guilty in Jay Circuit Court to battery resulting in bodily injury to a public safety official, a Level 5 felony.
Samuel B. Ames, 36, 4460 S. 700 East, Dunkirk, was sentenced to three years in Indiana Department of Correction with all but one year suspended and credit for two days served. He was also assessed court costs of $185 and placed on probation. As part of his plea agreement, a charge of battery by bodily waste was dismissed.
Possession
A Portland man was sentenced in Jay Superior Court to 365 days in Indiana Department of Correction.
Joseph N. Hicks, 35, 4276 W. Indiana 67, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony. He was assessed court costs of $185 and $200 in drug abuse, prosecution, interdiction and correction fees.
