Flooding issue needs to be fixed
To the editor:
I have lived at the intersection of High and Wayne streets in Portland for 40 years.
Anytime we get a decent rain, the street basin at the corner of the intersection plugs up, and at times water almost goes clear across the street.
When this happens, I get a tremendous amount of water in my basement.
This only happens when the sewer basin plugs up.
I have seen them bring the suction truck down many times, but this has not done anything for the backup of water.
It would really be nice if this could be corrected.
This intersection will plug before many other ones in town.
I have driven around town at times, and this corner seems to be the worst.
