The Delta High School boys basketball team is ranked ninth in Class 3A.
Its middle school program has some good teams as well.
East Jay Middle School’s boys basketball teams both suffered losses Monday to the visiting Delta Eagles. The eighth graders fell 45-24 while the seventh grade squad suffered a 42-15 defeat.
Wesley Bihn scored 13 points for the eighth grade Chiefs, which fell to 4-7. Bryce Wenk added four points.
The EJMS seventh graders (2-10) got six points apiece from Levi Muhlenkamp and Kadon Craig.
Wrestlers win two
DECATUR — The East Jay Middle School wrestling team won two of its three matches Saturday as it competed in the Bellmont Quad.
The Chiefs topped Cowan 54-43 and Bellmont 50-22 before falling 52-42 to Blackhawk Christian.
Going 3-0 on the day for EJMS were Cody Rowles (102), Tony Wood (110), AJ Myers (150), Bryce Wenk (175) and Conner Specht (220). Wood, Myers and Wenk all pushed their unbeaten records to 12-0.
Landon Garringer went 2-1 at Bellmont.
