HARTFORD CITY — The Bruins and Chiefs were evenly matched.
East Jay Middle School’s seventh grade girls basketball team eked out a 22-21 victory Wednesday over host Blackford. The eighth graders went to overtime against the Bruins before falling 39-37.
Laliana ElDeeb’s eight points set the pace for the seventh grade Chiefs.
Cassie Petro added five points, and Jenna Dues scored four.
Sophie Saxman racked up 19 points for the EJMS eighth grade team. Danielle May followed with six points, and Molly Muhlenkamp had four points.
