Hit and run
A Portland woman reported that her car had been hit while parked on the side of Miller Avenue in front of a house in Portland.
Danielle W. Bellis told Portland police she parked her car at 1115 Miller Ave. on Tuesday and noticed the damage Wednesday.
Her 2014 Cadillac CTS suffered damage to its back left rear side. Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
Pole hit
A Dunkirk teenager said her back hurt after her vehicle slid off the side of the road and into a pole, though she did not need immediate medical attention, according to a Jay County Sheriff’s Office accident report.
Mikale N. Knight, 18, was eastbound on county road 400 South about 9:20 a.m. Wednesday when her vehicle began sliding off the south side of the road. She overcorrected her vehicle, which then went off to the north side, off the road and into a pole.
She was driving a 2002 Volkswagen Beetle registered to Holly A. Knight. Damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
Deer hit
A Portland man was unable to avoid hitting a deer with his vehicle on county road 550 South near Mt. Pleasant Road at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
David E. Heath, 55, was driving his 2013 Honda CRV. Estimated damage was between $1,000 and $2,500
A Ridgeville woman’s vehicle sustained an estimated $2,500 to $5,000 in damage after it struck a deer on county road 250 West near its intersection with county road 700 South.
Debra L. Smithson, 65, was driving her 2018 Lincoln MKX when her vehicle hit the deer.
