Jay County Health Department announced two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 late Friday evening. That brings the county’s total to 21.
Of those who have tested positive for COVID-19 in Jay County, 16 have met the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention requirements to be released from isolation.
Thus far, seven of the local patients have required hospitalization and one has required mechanical ventilation.
Coronavirus is spread through respiratory droplets from sneezes and coughs, close personal contact and touching something with the virus on it and then touching the mouth, nose or eyes before washing hands.
