Joseph L. Garringer, 82, Portland, was cited for driving without a valid license following a two-vehicle accident at Meridian and Seventh streets in Portland about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Garringer told Portland police he did not see a 2013 Nissan Altima driven by Gary E. Lawrence, 50, Portland, at the intersection. Damage to the Lawrence car and Garringer’s 2005 Chevrolet pick-up truck was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.

No damage was reported to the building, but Watson’s vehicle sustained between $1,000 and $2,500 in damage to its right front fender.

A Portland woman left the scene of an accident after she lost control of her vehicle and drove into a pole on the northeast side of the intersection of county roads 500 South and 800 West.
Leah N. Ross, 30, was found the next day and admitted to driving the vehicle, according to a Jay County Sheriff’s Office report. Ross was driving a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer. Damage was estimated between $25,000 and $50,000.
