Ten days notice was more than enough for Casey Kenney.
He didn’t even need a full period to prove it.
Kenney, a 2009 Jay County High School graduate, needed just 3 minutes, 3 seconds, to finish Louis Smolka by submission Saturday to run his UFC record to 3-1.
Kicks were Kenney’s offense of choice early, but it was a right-hand counter punch that stumbled Smolka. Kenney was quick to capitalize, locking in a guillotine choke that force Smolka to tap out with nearly two minutes left in the opening period.
