A Portland woman was allegedly found with 35 grams of methamphetamine by Portland Police Department officers Wednesday.

Teresa Young, 40, 418 W. Main St., was arrested and preliminarily charged with dealing methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony, the highest level felony in Indiana for dealing meth.

According to Portland police assistant chief Josh Stephenson, Young had more than three times the amount of meth needed to charge her with a Level 2 felony.

She was also preliminarily charged with possession of a handgun with an obliterated serial number, a Level 5 felony, and maintaining a common nuisance, a Level 6 felony.

Young’s arrest was one of three Wednesday following Portland police investigations, which also led to the arrest of Portland residents Dylan T. Baughman and Cassandra R. Myers, according to a Portland police press release. They were both preliminarily charged with possession of cocaine, narcotics or methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony. Myers is being held on $4,500 bond while Baughman has a bond of $6,000.

A Level 2 felony dealing methamphetamine conviction carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison with an advisory sentence of 17.5 years.
