Think of others and do your part

Think of others and do your part

To the editor:

The people of Jay County have been asked to support local businesses during the pandemic. I really would like to, but since my husband and I are “high risk” we don’t feel comfortable going into stores where employees aren’t wearing masks.

I’m still trying to understand the thinking of store owners who don’t believe masks are necessary. It makes no sense. We have been told by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that mask wearing would cut down dramatically the transmission of COVID-19. I’m a retired registered nurse and understand and believe the science.

So I will continue to support the stores in Jay County whose employees are wearing masks. For those that don’t, I will shop elsewhere.

Wake up, Jay County. Our positive cases are growing at an alarming rate. Please do your part and make it easier for those of us at high risk. It would be very much appreciated. Think of others. It’s the right thing to do.
