Fined and sentenced

Colten L. Chapman, 26, no address listed, was found guilty of resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor, in a jury trial last month — Sentenced to one year in Jay County Jail. He was assessed court costs of $185. The jury ruled he was not guilty of battery resulting in bodily injury to a public safety official, a Level 5 felony, and a Level 6 felony charge of unlawful possession of a syringe was dismissed.

Anthony D. Williams, 30, 616 W. Main St., Portland, pleaded guilty to driving while suspended, a Class A misdemeanor — Sentenced to one year in Jay County Jail with all but six days of his sentence suspended and given six days credit for three days served. Placed on probation for one year and assessed court costs of $185. A separate Class A misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended was dismissed.
