WEST LEBANON — A week ago, Jay County allowed more than 500 rushing yards.
On Saturday, it gave up almost as much.
The Jay County High School football team surrendered more than 400 rushing yards and gave up two touchdowns in each of the first three quarters Saturday in a 41-0 loss to the host Seeger Patriots.
It marked the third straight loss for Jay County (0-3), which allowed 502 yards on the ground in a 47-8 loss to Huntington North last week and opens Allen County Athletic Conference play Friday at Class A No. 8 Adams Central (2-1).
Seeger (1-1) led 14-0 at the end of the first quarter and doubled the score by halftime. Heading to the fourth, the host Patriots led by the eventual final score, 41-0. Seeger held Jay County to just 133 yards of total offense.
Bailey Cox was the leading rusher for JCHS, covering 42 yards on 14 carries. Quinn Faulkner had 11 rushes for 29 yards.
Sam Dunlavy completed two of his 10 pass attempts for 50 yards with an interception. Sheldon Eley had a 40-yard reception.
Rylee Huftel recorded eight total tackles and got Jay County’s first interception of the season.
