Lilly applications are open

Applications are open for the 2022 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship through The Portland Foundation.

The scholarship program provides tuition to any Indiana college as well as fees and a stipend for books. It is presented to one student in Jay County.

In order to be eligible, a student must:

•Be a Jay County resident who will graduate in 2022 from an Indiana high school.

•Have been accepted to pursue a full-time baccalaureate course of study

•Have a minimum 3.5 GPA

Applicants will be scored on academics, financial need, activities and a written essay.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Sept. 2.

Be in the book

Own a longtime family farm? It can be featured in a new book.

Acclaim Press is creating the “Hoosier Homestead Farm” Legacy Book to feature the more than 5,800 farms that have received the Hoosier Homestead Award for longevity.

All Hoosier Homestead farms are eligible to submit up to 300 words about their history to be included in the book. A photo can be submitted as well.
