Felony arrests
Domestic battery
A Dunkirk man was arrested Sunday for domestic battery.
Robert G. McDowell, 51, 106 S. Fourth St., was preliminarily charged with two Level 6 felonies for domestic battery and neglect of a dependent.
He was released from Jay County Jail on a $3,000 bond.
Dealing drugs
A man was arrested Monday for dealing drugs.
Justin D. Eal, 34, was preliminarily charged with a Level 4 felony for dealing in a narcotic drug. He was also preliminarily charged two Class B misdemeanors for possession of marijuana and public intoxication.
Eal is being held on a $40,000 bond in Jay County Jail.
Resisting arrest
A Portland man was arrested Saturday for resisting an officer.
Brian M. Ferner, 31, 1085 N. 600 East, was preliminarily charged two Level 6 felonies for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and resisting an officer, along with a Class B misdemeanor for criminal recklessness.
Ferner was released on his own recognizance from Jay County Jail. There is currently a warrant out for his arrest on similar charges –– two Level 6 felonies for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and resisting law enforcement, and a Class C misdemeanor for reckless driving.
Criminal mischief
A Berne man was arrested Sunday for criminal mischief.
Robert E. Mann, 818 N. Jefferson St., was preliminarily charged with a Level 6 felony, and a Class C misdemeanor for public intoxication.
Mann is being held on a $5,000 bond in Jay County Jail.
Common nuisance
A Dunkirk man was arrested Friday for maintaining a common nuisance.
Aaron M. Darr, 39, 351 W. Pleasant St., Dunkirk, was preliminarily charged with two Level 6 felonies for maintaining a common nuisance and unlawful possession of a syringe, and a Class A misdemeanor for possession of paraphernalia.
He’s being held in Jay County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
Probation violation
A Portland man was arrested Monday for violating his probation.
Jason D. Harding, 22, 701 S. Western Ave., has an original Level 6 felony charge of criminal recklessness.
He’s being held in Jay County Jail on a $1,500 bond.
