LIbrary hosting holiday festivities

As Christmas draws near, the library still has plenty of holiday-themed activities planned.

Jay County Public Library will host a Gingerbread Slime event from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday. Children are invited to visit the Community Room at the library to make slime and enjoy a hot cocoa bar.

The library’s Cocoa, Cookies and a Classic movie series will also continue at 2 p.m. Wednesday with a showing of “A Christmas Carol.” Hot cocoa and cookies will be provided.

There will be a Gingerbread Man Scavenger Hunt beginning Monday and running through Dec. 30. Participants should visit the front desk to start their hunt to find the hidden gingerbread man in the building. Those who find him will receive a prize.



Hosting breakfast

First Church of Christ in Fort Recovery will host a Christmas breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The church’s youth Christmas program will follow at 10:30 a.m.

The events are open to the public. 

The church, located at 1049 Union?City Road, Fort Recovery will also hold a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. Dec. 24.



Wrapping up

Tom Cherry’s Old Time Radio Show will finish its 10th season with a Christmas party at 3 p.m. Saturday.

The show at Farmland Community Center, 100 N.?Main St., Farmland, will feature “A Christmas Carol” along with “The Happy Hoppy Hopper Show.”

Tickets are $1, and cookies and milk will be served.

Festival open

Festival of the Trees is back.

The 17th annual event runs until Dec. 31 at Fort Recovery Public Library during regular business hours. Trees have been decorated by local businesses, organizations, families and individuals. 

Visitors may vote for their favorite tree, with the winner receiving the 2021 People’s Choice Award.
