To the editor:
On behalf of The Journey Home in Winchester, Indiana, we would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all who participated, supported and volunteered to make the 4th Annual Golf Outing benefiting The Journey Home a tremendous success on Sunday, July 25, 2021.
Over 50 golfers hit the links on a sunny day at the beautiful Winchester Golf Club dedicated to helping veterans. The day featured 18 holes of challenging golf; putting challenge showdown; skills challenges; four hole-in-one challenges for amazing prizes; and each golfer receiving a goodie bag or winning a door prize.
We want to thank all the golfers, businesses and organizations for their generosity and for supporting the event. Major event sponsors included: KTL Performance Mortgage (Richmond and Greenville); City of Union City, Indiana; Superior Oil (Indianapolis); Dave Knapp Ford Lincoln (Greenville); Star 98.3 WZZY (Winchester) and Star 88.3 (Greenville). Additional support provided by: Adams Physical Therapy Services (Winchester and Portland); Casey’s General Stores (Winchester); Crossroads Financial Federal Credit Union (Winchester, Portland and Dunkirk); Financial Achievement Services (Greenville); Jay County Beverage (Portland); Jay County REMC (Portland); NLBC (Winchester); Ohio Valley Gas (Winchester and Portland); Old National Bank (Winchester); Radiant Church (Greenville); Randolph County Recycling District (Winchester); VanVleet Insurance (Richmond); Webb Jewelers (Winchester); Wick’s Pies (Winchester); Wiley Water Systems (Union City); and numerous donors of items and door prizes located all throughout the region.
Special thanks to: Winchester Golf Club; Eric Mikels; Mark Todd and our dedicated team of volunteers: Steve Bolyard; Judy Pepples; Ashley Orr; Pat Neville; Shanda Solomon; Stacy Orr; Ty and Kelli Blume; Roy Wentz; June Sanders, Jim Sanders and several veterans representing The Journey Home.
The Journey Home thanks everyone for their support, time, efforts and unwavering dedication to our veterans. The success of this event could not have been possible without the participation and support of all. Net proceeds from the event makes it possible for The Journey Home to provide important programs, services and resources that directly benefits homeless veterans to end homelessness and at-risk Veterans to maintain permanent housing.
