Felony arrests
Criminal assistance
A Portland woman was arrested today for assisting a criminal.
Debra E. Bennett, 66, 417 W. Votaw St., was preliminarily charged with a Level 6 felony. She’s being held in Jay County Jail on a $3,000 bond.
Drug possession
A Portland man was arrested today for possessing drugs.
Jesse L. Ishman, 39, 951 W. Water St., was preliminarily charged with a Level 6 felony for possession of methamphetamine.
He’s being held in Jay County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
Drug dealing
Two Portland residents were arrested Monday on multiple charges stemming from dealing drugs.
Kamron W. Petty, 25, and Brianna D. Newton, 23, both of 827 S. Shank St, were both preliminarily charged with a Level 2 felony for dealing in cocaine, methamphetamine or narcotic drugs, a Level 5 felony for owning, carrying or possessing a firearm as a felon, two Level 6 felonies for maintaining a common nuisance and unlawful possession of a syringe and a Class C misdemeanor for possession of paraphernalia.
Petty and Newton are being held on a $57,000 bond in Jay County Jail.
Failed to appear
A Portland woman was arrested Friday for failing to appear in court.
Danielle D. Moser, 23, 634 E. North St., has two original charges for maintaining a common nuisance, a Level 6 felony, and possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor.
Moser is being held in Jay County Jail without bond.
Obstruction
A Portland man was arrested for obstruction of justice Friday.
Jason W. Hensley, 46, was preliminarily charged with a Level 6 felony for the alleged crime, two Class A misdemeanors for domestic battery and resisting law enforcement and two Class B misdemeanors for disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana.
He’s being held in Jay County Jail on a $3,000 bond.
Probation violation
Three Indiana residents were arrested recently for violating their probations.
Jasmine R. Weatherhead, 24, 228 E. Walnut St., Portland, was arrested Friday, and she has an original charge with a Level 6 felony for unlawful possession of a syringe. Weatherhead is being held in Jay County Jail on a $1,300 bond.
Kyle B. Deck, 28, 11170 S. 14th St., Decatur, was arrested Tuesday. His original charge is for failing to report, a Level 3 felony. He’s being held without bond in Jay County Jail.
Chad D. Cook, 39, 801 W. Main St., Muncie, was arrested Tuesday. His original charge is for theft, a Level 6 felony. Cook is being held in Jay County Jail on a $600 bond.
