Shutterbug show is slated for Oct. 9

The models are coming back.

The Midwest Scale Model Nationals, Halloween Vehicle Show & Day of the Dead Celebration is scheduled for Oct. 9 at Jay County Fairgrounds.

The event will feature scale models of a wide variety of vehicles. Halloween vehicles will also be on display. And there will be a Day of the Dead celebration.

The model displays will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the Day of the Dead celebration from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ready to celebrate

Arts Place recently announced dates and some details about its plans to celebrate its renovation and expansion project.

The arts organization will host an invitation-only dedication celebration at the Jay County Campus of Arts Place on Oct. 9. It will feature a performance by Heartland Singers.

An opening reception and awards night for Art’s Place’s Juried Art Show is set for Oct. 15. And an open house featuring tours, demonstrations and exhibits is slated for Oct. 16.



Internships available

The Republican and Democratic parties in Indiana are accepting applications for internships for the 2022 legislative session.

The internships are open to current college students and recent college graduates.  Those interested can apply online at indianahouserepublicans.com and indianahousedemocrats.org. The deadline to apply is Oct. 31.
