Nominate a board member


The deadline for a Ball Brothers Foundation award is coming up.

The John W. and Janice B. Fisher Governance Award “highlights the important role board members play in strategic planning and financial oversight to achieve the organization’s mission, secure financial stability, and ensure general effectiveness of the organization,” according to a press release from the Ball Brothers Foundation. Delaware County nonprofit organizations have until 4 p.m. Aug. 15 to nominate a board member for the award, which allots a $10,000 grant to the recipient’s organization.

The award will be presented at the annual Greater Muncie Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner in October. To learn more about eligibility requirements and to submit a nomination, visit ballfdn.org/fisher- governance-award.


Friends of Arts

Fort Recovery Friends of the Arts is hosting another show this weekend.

Wally and The Beavs will take the stage at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Hein Amphitheater in Van Trees Park. The group performs a variety of popular Motown and classic rock music, including cover songs by Steely Dan, The Beatles, Chicago and other respected artists. Wally and The Beavs are known for very strong vocal harmonies complimented by a dynamic horn section.


Minnetrista to host

Minnetrista will be hosting its annual Faeries, Sprites & Lights event from 9 p.m. July 27 through July 29.

Children are encouraged to dress up as a magical faerie and play in the faerie wonderland at the cultural center in Muncie. There will be games, crafts, a theater show, music, dancing and a bubble garden.
