Lost control

A Farmland woman swerved off the road and into a ditch and cornfield at the intersection of Indiana 1 and Indiana 26 about 4:16 p.m. Thursday.

Melissa A. Bullock, 52, told police she was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze south on Indiana 1 and approaching its intersection with Indiana 26 when an unknown vehicle turned in front of her and continued south. Bullock said she swerved to avoid hitting the vehicle, causing her to go off the road and into a ditch. Her vehicle continued into a cornfield.

Damage is estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
