Last season: As rain relentlessly pounded down, the Patriots failed to block Woodlan as they gave up six sacks and finished with a net total of one rushing yard in a 21-0 loss. The two teams attempted a total of 16 passes, only seven of which were completed, all by Sean Bailey. Drew Fleek, who led the game with 161 yards on the ground, punched the ball in once, while Jake Ley scored on a counter play. The other touchdown came on a 27-yard fumble recovery.
Game notes: This is the 11th matchup between the Patriots and the Warriors. Woodlan leads the series 10-1 ... WHS had its first .500 season or better since 2017 last year as it went 5-5 ... Jay County had two players suffer injuries during last week’s match. Joaquin Johnson will miss the rest of the 2025 campaign, while Carter Fugiett’s status is unknown after he needed to be carted off in an ambulance during the Bluffton game ... Both teams have started 0-3 in ACAC play and will have this game circled to avoid the cellar of the conference ... The Sagarin ratings for the teams are virtually the same as Jay County has a 35.93, which is 243rd overall and 51st in Class 3A, while Woodlan’s 36.32 rating is 242nd overall and 50th in Class 3A ... John Harrell projects Woodlan to lose 28-24.
