Village awarded $499,000 grant
FORT RECOVERY — The village will be granted half a million dollars for its latest reconstruction project. Ohio Public Works Commission recently awarded Fort Recovery approximately $499,000 through the Small Government Program grant for reconstruction of Butler Street between Fort Site and Main streets.

Brenner charged in Long’s death
Cody A. Brenner, 34, 317 E. North St., Dunkirk, was charged in Jay Circuit Court with a Level 1 felony for knowingly or intentionally delivering fentanyl, which resulted in the death of Zachary Long on Sept. 11.

Option offered
Craig Frazee of Dynamic Business Solutions presented an option to Redkey Town Council for livestreaming and recording its meetings, which will be required by state law beginning July 1, 2025.
Site announced
Jay County Drug Prevention Coalition and IU Health Jay announced a partnership Wednesday for the new sober living facility, which is planned for the house at 422 W. Votaw St., Portland. IU Health Jay has agreed to donate the property to Jay County Drug Prevention Coalition for the project.
Bidding set for next week
Jason Clearwaters of engineering firm Butler, Fairman & Seufert on Wednesday told Portland Board of Aviation that plans are to advertise for bids next week for the Portland Municipal Airport apron expansion project.
