To the editor: In response to a guest opinion on April 13 in The Commercial Review by Fort Wayne conservative Republican John McGauley, please allow me to share some things.
Don't turn away any from church
To the editor: I am Catholic. There is no conservative Catholic or liberal Catholic. What is right is right; what is wrong is wrong.
Board president gives response
To the editor: If you were the governing body that is directly responsible to the taxpayers for a museum, I personally don’t believe it would be an outlandish expectation for the curator of the museum to work on Saturdays.
The history of Memorial Day
To the editor: The sesquicentennial of Memorial Day is this year along with the American Civil War. A claim was made that the first Civil War soldier’s grave was decorated in Warrenton, Va., on June 3, 1865.
Cemetery caretakers thanked
To the editor: We would like to thank the persons responsible for mowing and trimming Gravel Hill Cemetery west of Bryant. You do a terrific job.
Employment discrimination wrong
To the editor: I recently heard that employers and business people do not like the Americans with Disabilities Act. I guess some of them are getting sued for discrimination. About time. You would not treat blacks or women the way you treat some of us.
Habitat asks for your help
To the editor: Habitat for Humanity of Jay County has set a date of Aug. 3 for our Blitz Build. If all goes well, the home will be totally enclosed and the doors locked at the end of the day.
Drive set to honor officers
To the editor: Throughout the month of June in communities all across the state, American Red Cross blood drives are taking place to honor fallen officers.

No handout for chamber
To the editor: In regards to the Executive Director of the Jay County Chamber of Commerce asking for money to keep the Chamber operating, I feel that all persons involved in the decision making should ask a few questions before they shell out $25,000.00 to bail them out.
Know the consequences of alcohol
To the editor: Now that summer is finally here it is once again time for cookouts, family get-togethers and holiday celebrations. In addition to the wonderful grilled items and tasty desserts at these functions, there is often times an assortment of alcohol on hand.
Cancer walk was a success
To the editor: How can we begin to say thanks to each of you who volunteered, donated, attended, and encouraged every cancer survivor at the Walk Against Cancer, which was held on Saturday, June 22, at Jay County High School?
