Fort Recovery denied grant requests

County awards paving contract
Jay County Commissioners awarded a $1,088,045 contract Monday to the lowest bidder, Brooks Construction of Fort Wayne, for road work on several roads west of Indiana 1, just south of its intersection with Indiana 26.
Home owners can apply now for program
Jay County Commissioners announced during their regular meeting that the $1 million project — it’s mainly funded through an Indiana of Community and Rural Affairs grant — opened to the public Tuesday.

FORT RECOVERY — The village will be granted half a million dollars for its latest reconstruction project. Ohio Public Works Commission recently awarded Fort Recovery approximately $499,000 through the Small Government Program grant for reconstruction of Butler Street between Fort Site and Main streets.
Option offered
Craig Frazee of Dynamic Business Solutions presented an option to Redkey Town Council for livestreaming and recording its meetings, which will be required by state law beginning July 1, 2025.
Site announced
Jay County Drug Prevention Coalition and IU Health Jay announced a partnership Wednesday for the new sober living facility, which is planned for the house at 422 W. Votaw St., Portland. IU Health Jay has agreed to donate the property to Jay County Drug Prevention Coalition for the project.

Jason Clearwaters of engineering firm Butler, Fairman & Seufert on Wednesday told Portland Board of Aviation that plans are to advertise for bids next week for the Portland Municipal Airport apron expansion project.
