Finances continue to look strong

Choice One to assist with paving

Redkey Town Council approved a $6,000 service agreement Thursday with Choice One Engineering for bidding and grant administration services for paving planned in 2024.

Jay County’s unemployment rate in October was 3.1% according to estimates Indiana Department of Workforce Development released Monday.

Concrete addition

Construction work recently finished on Bryant’s walking trail, a more than half-mile path that curves through Bryant Area Park. The town celebrated Nov. 11 with a ribbon cutting for the project priced at nearly half a million dollars.

CIP approved

Portland Board of Aviation made quick work of its meeting Wednesday, approving its capital improvement plan for submission to the Federal Aviation Administration with no changes from what had previously been discussed.

Participating in GIFT VIII

The Portland Foundation will be seeking grant funding through the Lilly Endowment. The foundation announced its plans to participate in Lilly’s Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT) Initiative VIII for Indiana Foundations.

Development project set as priority

Jay County Commissioners on Monday declared development of the 68 acres acquired by Jay County earlier this year as the county’s priority for the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) 2.0 initiative.

Curtin hired to assist with TIF dollars

Jay County Redevelopment Commission approved a contract Monday with Ed Curtin of CWC Latitudes.
