A pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns nullified Parkway Panthers’ comeback attempt and helped the Fort Recovery High School football team to a 36-24 homecoming victory Friday night.

Jay County High School’s football team did a lot right Friday, including stifling the Lapel Bulldogs’ offense for most of the night. But more missed opportunities and miscues left them short of a Senior Night win as they fell 14-12.

The Patriots defense kept them in the match, but the offense couldn’t keep up. The Jay County High School volleyball team only managed 25 kills in their regular season finale against the New Castle Trojans, a 25-19, 25-15, 25-21 loss.

The Fort Recovery High School volleyball team’s 24-26, 27-25, 25-19, 25-21 victory over the St. John’s Blue Jays on Tuesday, guaranteed the Indians can’t tie for the last place in the conference in 2024.
Can’t pick off Eagles
The Jay County High School tennis team fell 5-0 to the Delta Eagles on Saturday in the IHSAA Regional 14 hosted by Noblesville for the third consecutive season.

The highs and the lows
In the five-set thriller, Jay County and Daleville were locked in a back-and-forth battle before the Patriots finally came out victorious in the final set, beating the Broncos 22-25, 25-19, 25-18, 13-25, 15-13 on Monday.
Patriot sweep
Cox and the other four Patriot boys that scored finished in the top 20, while the girls had eight athletes in the first two decades to power the Jay County High School cross country teams to first-place finishes at the Winchester Invitational on Saturday.
Huelskamp makes return to Indians
Makenna Huelskamp made her first appearance for the Fort Recovery High School cross country team on Saturday at the Lions Club Invitational hosted by Coldwater and helped the girls team to a seventh place finish.
‘Missed opportunities’
The Patriots forced three first-half turnovers, the final of which led to a drive to the red zone. With a 1st-and-goal at the 10-yard line, the Starfires made their stand to keep the Patriots scoreless before the intermission.
Flyers jump on top of FRHS
Fort Recovery High School’s football team faced a 28-point deficit at the end of the first quarter Friday night and went on to a 62-0 loss to the Division VII No. 1 Marion Local Flyers.
Muhlenkamp breaks former coach’s record
ANDERSON — In 2021, Brad Horn coached Levi Muhlenkamp. Three years later, Muhlenkamp erased Horn’s name and penciled in his own. And with the Patriots’ sights set on a second sectional championship in three seasons, he will have a chance to add to that record.
