Meridian Street traffic lights (pictured looking south) at High, Walnut, Main and Water streets as well as at Lafayette Street will be removed next week as part of Indiana Department of Transportation’s project in Portland. Temporary four-way stop signs will be placed at the intersection of Meridian and Water streets. The other intersections involved will be two-way stops. Traffic lights will be removed next week as part of Meridian Street project in Portland

Brooks Construction, which is handling Indiana Department of Transportation’s current Meridian Street (U.S. 27) project in the city, announced that temporary stops signs will be in place beginning next week as it works to replace traffic signals and install curb ramps.
