Tribe drills Jefferson

If a team is ahead by 15 runs after the fifth inning in OHSAA softball, the game is over. Fort Recovery did almost all of the damage it needed in one inning.

The Indians scored at least six runs in each of the first three innings Tuesday in a 29-2 trouncing of the Delphos Jefferson Wildcats.

The Tribe (8-4) scored six runs in the first inning and six more in the second for a 12-1 lead. Then it had the big inning, scoring 14 times in the third inning.

They added three more runs in the fourth for good measure.

Alyssa Tobe had an outstanding day for Fort Recovery, finishing 3-for-4 with a double. She drove in six runs and scored three times.

Tobe was also the winning pitcher, allowing just two runs on two hits in five innings. She walked three batters and struck out six.

Ciera Rammel also had three hits for the Indians. She doubled, scored twice, drove in two runs and stole a base.

Krystal Rammel had two hits, including a double, four runs and two RBIs.

Adding two hits apiece were Brenda Rindler, Tiera Judy and Jenna Thien. Judy, Thien and Megan Wenning each scored twice and drove in two runs, and Krystal Rammel also scored twice.

Scoring three runs each were Rindler and Jenny Lauber, and crossing the plate twice were Lisa Grisez, Kim Link and Katie Lauber.

Fort Recovery will visit Marion Local today at 5 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
