Bellmont knocks off Starfires

BERNE - South Adams suffered a loss in its first home soccer game of the season Tuesday, falling 5-2 to the Bellmont Squaws.
Bellmont took control early, scoring three times before Victoria Smith got the Starfires on the board before halftime. Brianna Nevil scored the other goal for South Adams on a second-half assist from her sister Chelsey.
Freshman goalie Jessie Beavers finished with eight saves for the Starfires.
Volleyball falls to Panthers
BERNE - After picking up its first win of the season Monday over Jay County, the volleyball team slipped to a 25-22, 25-12, 25-14 loss Tuesday to the visiting Eastbrook Panthers.
South Adams also lost 25-14, 25-8 in junior varsity action. The freshman team fell 25-19, 25-8.[[In-content Ad]]
