Big fourth lifts Indians

ST. HENRY, Ohio — The Indians went on a roller coaster ride, but they came out on top.
After falling behind by seven in the third quarter, the Division IV No. 10 Fort Recovery High School girls basketball game finished on an 8-1 run Thursday as it knocked off the St. Henry Redskins 59-50.
The Tribe (13-3, 6-1 Midwest Athletic Conference) had an eight-point advantage at the half, fell behind 40-33 in the third quarter and then outscored St. Henry (8-9, 2-5 MAC) 22-10 in the final period to reclaim the lead and pull away.
Ericka Lennartz and Kelly Nietfeld each scored 14 points for FRHS. Kylie Kahlig added 10 points.
Ashley Heitkamp had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead the Redskins.
In the junior varsity game, Sierra Pugh scored 15 points to lead Fort Recovery to a 52-38 victory.

Boys swim wins
LIMA, Ohio — The Indian boys picked up victories of 46-45 over Lima Senior, 47-31 over Elida and 52-24 over Minster Thursday at Lima YMCA.
The girls team defeated Elida 47-40, but lost to Lima Senior 64-30, Minster 49-35 and St. Henry 41-39.
Marshall Hull turned in two victories for the Fort Recovery boys, posting top times of 1 minute, 1.26 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly and 1:04.35 in the 100 backstroke. Mitch Homan was first in the 200 freestyle in 2:19.62, and Andy Gray won the 50 freestyle in 24.6.
Olivia Acheson took third for the Tribe girls in the 200 freestyle in 2:53.88, and Elle Sutter was third in the 500 freestyle at 7:42.86.

MS boys drop pair
FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery eighth grade boys basketball team fell 40-34 Thursday to the St. Henry Redskins. The seventh graders lost 30-27.
Caleb Martin finished with eight points to lead the FRMS seventh grade squad, which dropped to 3-12. Jason Roessner and Travis Sutter each scored five points.
J.J. Overton finished with 12 points for the eighth graders (11-4). Wes Wenning added eight points.[[In-content Ad]]
