Coldwater tops Tribe spikers

COLDWATER, Ohio - The Fort Recovery High School volleyball team dropped to 1-5 in the Midwest Athletic Conference Thursday with a 25-18, 25-17, 25-19 loss to the Coldwater Cavaliers.
Holly Brunswick had 13 kills and three blocks for the Tribe (6-8).
Nicole Pottkotter added six kills and four points, and Emily May had 10 digs.
Chelsey Leuthold totaled six digs and three kills.
The Indians won the first game before dropping the junior varsity match 20-25, 25-20, 25-21.
Kayla Kahlig had 27 assists, seven points and four blocks for FRHS (8-5, 3-3 MAC), and Ericka Lennartz added 13 kills, 10 digs and eight points. Abby Backs totaled 27 digs, and Kylie Kahlig had nine blocks.
MS gridders split
FORT RECOVERY - The Indian middle school football teams split a pair of two-point games Thursday with the New Bremen Cardinals. The seventh graders pulled out an 8-6 victory while the eighth grade team lost 14-12.
Cole Hall scored the only Tribe TD in the seventh grade game on a 42-yard pass from Mitch Stammen in the first quarter. He also added the 2-point conversion run for the winning margin as Fort Recovery improved to 4-1.
Ben Dilworth scored a 50-yard run in the first quarter for the FRMS eighth graders (1-4). Kent Retz added a 32-yard TD pass to Ben Dilworth in the fourth quarter.
7th spikers win
FORT RECOVERY - Tori Lennartz led the seventh grade volleyball team to a 25-16, 25-23 victory Thursday over the Greenville Green Wave. The eighth grade team picked up a game, but stayed winless with a 25-18, 23-25, 25-21 defeat.
Lennartz led the seventh graders to their third win of the year with 16 points, one kill and one dig. Makayla Grove scored seven points, and Morgan Leuthold had two assists.
Lexi Schmitz paced the eighth grade Indians with 11 points, eight kills and two blocks.
