Local roundup

The Patriots will be without their starting point guard for at least a few more games.
Kegan Comer, a Jay County High School senior, will be out for at least two weeks.
Comer broke a bone in his right wrist when he slammed into a wall after making a lay-up during the first quarter of Friday’s win over Winchester. He met with doctors on Saturday and again Monday, and will be in a hard cast for the next two weeks. He will be re-evaluated on Feb. 4 and likely wear a hard cast for several more weeks.
Jay County, which defeated Centerville 56-23 with Comer sidelined on Saturday, plays its next game Saturday at Blackford. The Patriots will host Eastbrook and Yorktown on Feb. 1 and 2 respectively. The earliest potential return for Comer would be for the Feb. 7 game at Delta.
Comer, who will play college basketball next season at the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, is one of three JCHS players averaging double figures as he scores 12.5 points per game. He leads JCHS in assists at 4.3 per game, and is also averaging 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals.
