INDIANAPOLIS - A former Dunkirk resident added another award to his resume Saturday.

Kenny Byrge, now a student at Indiana University, was one of 10 drivers voted to the Indianapolis Star's 2006 Indiana Motor Racing All-Star Team. He was one of 25 finalists for the honor, which is based on racing success in Indiana in 2006.

Byrge won the United Midget Racing Association points championship this year. He was also voted the series' Most Improved Driver.

Among those on the ballot who did not make the all-star team were Sam Hornish Jr., winner of the Indianapolis 500, and Jimmie Johnson, who won NASCAR's Allstate 400 at the Brickyard.
