East Jay girls take first (05/07/07)

Jordan McMillan's three victories led the Chiefs to the title Saturday as they hosted the East Jay Relays.
The EJMS girls scored 118 points for the win with South Adams (91) in second. West Jay was fifth in the six-team field with 29.
South Adams captured the boys title just 21/2 points ahead of county rival Adams Central with 104. East Jay was fourth at 691/2, and West Jay placed sixth with 21.
McMillan powered East Jay with her pair of individual victories. She was first in the high jump thanks to cleaning the bar on her first attempt at 4 feet, 8 inches, and took the long jump at 13 feet, 11 inches.
She also teamed with Laura Castillo, Katie Snyder and Lindsay Moser to take the 800-meter sprint medley in 2-minutes, 5.5 seconds.
Other individual wins for the Chief girls came from Abby Denney in the discus (78 feet, 11/2 inches), and Maria Murphy in the shot put (28 feet, 8 inches).
Kylie Cisney was first for South Adams in the 100 hurdles (17.36), and Hannah Moore took the 1,600 run (5:55.94).
Kylie Kelso posted the top finish for the West Jay girls, finishing second behind McMillan in the long jump at 13 feet 31/2 inches.
Taylor Smith led the South Adams boys to their title as he was part of victories in the 4x100 relay, 4x200 relay and 1200 sprint medley. Marcus Rich, Tobin Eicher, Sam Amstutz and Chase Moore all took part in two wins.
Teedric Nichols, Brock McFarland, Cade Price and David Rosebeck were first for East Jay in the 4x400 relay in 4:15.3. Zach Cash led West Jay by taking the 110 hurdles in 18.08.[[In-content Ad]]
