Eight Chiefs earn pins

The East Jay Middle School wrestling team was barely challenged Thursday.
Eight Chief wrestlers earned wins by pin in a 68-20 victory over Muncie Northside.
Caleb Chenoweth (100-pound weight division), Mason Winner (105), Kaimen Sanders (110), and Thomas Hemmelgarn (125) all pinned their opponents. Also getting pins were Ben Antrim (147), Daniel Ostrowski (154), Gaven Hare (177) and Jacob Ferguson (HWT).
Chandler Chapman (120) won by a 12-9 decision.
In reserve action, Dawson Frasher and Ethan Huntsman both won by pin.


WJ struggles at Driver
WINCHESTER — Malcolm McIntire and Gavin Corwin were the only two West Jay wrestlers to earn wins Thursday, as the Eagles fell to host Driver 83-12.
McIntire needed only 19 seconds to pin his opponent in the 95-pound weight division, and Corwin (110) earned his win in two minutes, 20 seconds.
The two also picked up a couple of wins in reserve action, with McIntire getting a fall in 1:30 and Corwin winning by a 5-2 decision. Nathan Hamilton (145) won by a 9-3 decision, and Larkin Alsip (200) won by pin in 30 seconds.
