EJ takes 2nd, Eagles third (02/16/2009)
The host Chiefs had one champion Saturday as they finished second in the East Jay Wrestling Invitational. The West Jay Eagles picked up a pair of individual titles en route to the third-place finish.
Conner Ray paced EJMS, winning the 80-pound bracket with a 3-0 record.
Chase Louck was perfect for West Jay at 115 points, and Carrolton Fischer finished 3-0 at 120 pounds.
The Chiefs finished second as a team with five runner-up efforts, including Corey Bellis (100) going 3-1. Brandon Poore (115), Zach Metcalf (135), Cody Bellis (160) and Kyle Garringer (175) all finished 2-1 to place second.
Bryce Bantz (85), Dustin Tighe (110), Justin Love (125) and Dylan Harris (145) all went 2-1 to finish second for West Jay. Lucas Wiemer (135) went 2-1 and finished third.
Robert Cooper (90) posted a 4-1 record and placed fifth for East Jay.[[In-content Ad]]
