EJMS wins big (02/08/07)
EJMS 6th grade basketball
For the Chief sixth graders, Wednesday night was all about eight.
The East Jay Middle School sixth grade boys and girls basketball teams each earned their eighth wins of the season against Hartford City. The girls team stayed perfect with a dominating 45-5 win while the boys improved to 8-1 with their 38-20 victory.
Emily DeVoe and Rachelle Jackson shared the lead for the girls team with 10 points apiece. DeVoe added four assists, and Jackson finished with three steals.
Gabie Cross followed with eight points and six rebounds.
Cade Price and Kegan Comer each reached double figures for the Chief boys, finishing with 13 and 11 points respectively. Brock McFarland chipped in six points.
The girls B team earned its first win of the season, 10-8, as Allie Thayer and Courtney Snyder each scored three points. Dan Walter scored 10 points to lead the boys B team to a 34-25 victory.[[In-content Ad]]
