Errors end season for the Patriots

Local roundup

HUNTINGTON — The Patriots had been strong at the end of the season, winning their final three games to guarantee a winning record. But in their tournament opener, they couldn’t get much of anything to go right.
Jay County High School recorded just three hits while giving up seven unearned runs Thursday as it lost 10-0 to the host Huntington North Vikings in the opening round of the Class 4A Sectional 6 baseball tournament.
Landry Inman gave up seven runs — two earned — in 4 1/3 innings to take the loss for the Patriots (15-13). Wesley Hibbard and Alex Dunn each worked in relief.
Huntington North took control with four unearned runs in the third inning.
Toby McCallister, Jason Houston and Tanner Reynolds had one hit apiece for JCHS.
