Fisher leads SA

GENEVA — Abbie Fisher played her best golf of the season Monday, leading the South Adams High School girls golf team to a 219-250 victory over the visiting Mississinewa Indians.
Fisher bogeyed four of the first five holes at Golf Club of the Limberlost and closed her round strong as well. She parred the 258-yard, par-4 seventh hole and the 85-yard, par-3 ninth en route to earning medalist honors with a 46.
Allie Corbin and Taylor Horn shared the top score for Mississinewa at 58.
Kristen Lehman also parred the final hole for a 54, and Sam Schwartz had a par of the 132-yard, par-3 third hole as she shot 56.
Adrienne Pursley rounded out the team score for the Starfires (2-4) with a 63.

Netters perfect
BERNE — A doubles sweep helped keep the Starfire boys tennis team perfect as it defeated the visiting New Haven Bulldogs 3-2 Monday.
Kegan Sprunger and Scott Hoeppner picked up a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles, and Ian Frank and Derek Schwartz won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles. Alex Huber dominated in the No. 1 singles match for South Adams with a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
Reid Zurcher took the opening set at No. 3 singles before falling 2-6, 7-6 (9-7), 6-4, and Mark Muselman lost 6-2, 6-4 to Logan Ramsey at No. 2 singles.
The SAHS junior varsity team lost 3-2.[[In-content Ad]]
